K-otic beginnins
Once upon a time, there was a girl named Kayla. She was stuck in a daily rut of school and homework. Kayla never had any fun. She would go to school and then back home, only to spend all her time doing homework and watching TV. One day, Kayla drove out of town, just needing an escape from her everyday nothingness. She drove to a nearby lake. While sitting on a dock near the lake, Kayla accidentally fell asleep and rolled into the water. The water spashed and thrashed around as a comotion took place below the surface. After a few minutes, Kayla re-emurged from the water...but she had changed somehow. The under-stinulation of poor Kayla's teenaged life mixed with the unexpected rush of the cold water woke her senses to the world around her. Suddenly, she was no longer a bored, lazy teen, but a reborn super-girl with the power to take on the world. Kayla suddenly wanted chaos rather than the nothing of her previous life. In fact, Kayla now had the ability to take on loads more with less effort than before. She ran for class office, joined sports teams, organized school and church events, helped other kids around her find their own spark for being involved and active again. Kayla knew that more people neededher help, so she decided to use her new abilities to help even more people. Kayla disguised herself and went searching for other lazy and unimaginative people like her previous self to help... and this is where I come in...who am I? I am K-OTICA THE GREAT!!! I love to use my entheusiasm for life to help others have fun and see what they are missing. I love beng invloved and having a good time. Find your life a little dull and mundane? Let K-otica help put some 'k-oas' in your life!
Hiding in plain sight...
Although I am a wonderous ball of k-oas and creativity, I must try and disguise myself on an everyday basis. My life as a run-of-the-mill citizen includes being a full-time student, a photographer, a wife, and a mother of 2. In fact, with everything I have going on, I am finding it a little difficult to fit in "quality me time" (the chance to cause a little K-oas) at all. But here is a little more about me and what I do when I am 'hiding in plain sight'.
My family is amazing! My son, Marty, is almost 5. I can hardly believe I have an almost 5-year old! It makes me feel almost ancient! He is soooooooo talkative and full of energy. I can see that I have passed on the k-otic genes to him. Saidi, my daughter, is 2 and 1/2. She is such a drama queen! She is so flipp'n adorable that it almost makes up for the drama...sometimes! My husband of almost 7 years is my high school sweethear. He totally gets me, and understands that I have 2 very different sides to who I am. He is the best dad and husband any undercover heroine could ask for!
I am a full time student. I have been at Stanislaus since Fall 2008, and can hardly wait to finally finish up in the Spring. Graduation has almost been too long coming, and now I am almost impatient trying to wait for it. I am considering going on for my Master's degree. I hear that UC Merced is working on letting graduate students create their own program, so I am going to look into one for art.
I love to take pictures. That's my normal job. I work with families, kids, events, weddings, you name it! I am really enjoying meeting new people and using my creativity at the same time. I find that working as a photographer allows me the freedom of going here and there and working on my own schedule, while still being able to help support my family. I am really excited to see where it will take me in the future!
Other than that, I am just trying to lay low and stay inconspicuous to the rest of the world. We'll see what waits ahead for K-otica the Great!
